Visual Note-taking Services
How could I tell you how valuable visual notes are, then present you only with a sea of text?
The whole image here and the cropped sections alongside the details show how a picture and a few, curated notes, paint 1000+ words.
What for?
Visual Notes can serve a business and/or speaker as:
a pre-prepared handout,
course notes and/or worksheets
a capture of a conversation, feedback session or plenary created live during delivery
a checkpoint during development to understand if your keynote communicates your message in the way you hoped
a momento of an event (as a gift)
a visual aid to live-annotate or recall your presentation for you and your audience
Why?
These types of notes are valuable because who doesn't love the novelty of information being presented in a different way or swag from an event they've attended?
For those with courses, delivering sessions and/or keynotes, visual notes allow your audience to connect to your words and examples using both the verbal (written, auditory) AND visual (image and connection-making) parts of their brain simultaneously, known as dual coding in teaching circles.
This additional cognition increases the audience's ability to recollect key facts and figures after the event, much like the well-known concept of retaining memory through a narrative, visual means such as a story. This is also simply because most people hold pictures rather than words more readily in their memory.
In addition, presenting the same information in multiple ways peaks interest and holds attention, different pathways require us to process knowledge and integrate it in multiple ways and therefore allows for better recall.
The latest research on teaching/learning also suggests that we switch between learning preferences dependent on context and topic. Modern techniques suggest combining approaches, much like Visual Notetaking, and Sketchnoting, where words and visuals appear together.
So if you want to power-up your audience's learning, then reach out to see how we could work together, three options are presented below depending on if you want a done-for-you, done-with-you, or learn-how-to approach.
I'm open to conversation about collaboration, or a bespoke twist to the below. Please get in touch.

Options, Options:
Done-for-you:
You've a product or a talk you're giving - and you want notes for them as handouts/course notes or worksheets
I'll watch, read or listen to your material and produce notes per section, session or chapter
Done-with-you:
You're developing a talk/pitch and want to see what might land for the audience
my notes give you a visual guide
I attend your live event and scribe live, sharing the notes during the breaks, and a final edited copy for the attendees
We co-create your personal annotatable notes for presentation delivery, to enhance your normal slides to something more interactive
Learn-how-to:
A starter for 10 (visual notes 101) with an intro to basic sketching and how you could incorporate it live for a session you deliver to increase retention
This could be an in-person or an online event, workshop-style, together; or at your own pace through a paid-for video recording.
You'll get a demo of how this could work live for your own session, whether you choose to do it yourself, or have me attend and do the note-taking on your behalf.
Sounds good?
Use the contact form below to get in touch, and I can direct you either to a quick 15-mins call to understand what you're after and what might work best for both of us, or send you to the shop link for the video course.
If you're only interested in a demo of notes used in a live session, then check out the Bullet Journal Intro - if you buy this, then choose to book on the Visual Notes 101, or book me for subsequent services then you'll get at least 50% of the cost of Bullet Journal Intro back as a discount, win-win!
