Welcome to Hargest Creative
We’re a husband and wife team offering wellbeing workshops, original art commissions, physical and digital art products and original fiction. We can be found in person in and around Birmingham, and online.
Our art is created as an expression of our experience. It’s meant to inspire joy and invite curiosity. Our workshops make use of our skills as a qualified therapist (Kev) and insight-minded coaches (Mayuri & Kev) to bring healing, self-inspired wisdom and hope to those we are privileged to work alongside.
Kev
comes from a family of creatives. He’s been painting, writing (poerty and fiction) and singing for over 30 years. His work is inspired by story and mythology. He’s particualrly good at creating seascapes and conceptual art.
Most recently his work has been featured in the Birmingham Open in Victoria Square (2025), he was long-listed in the Visual Artists’ Open (2024) and had a special recognition in the Light, Space and Time online art gallery (Seascapes, 2025).
Kev’s therapeutic background stems from Systemic Thinking and Critical Analysis. He’s since trained as a professional coach and clinical supervisor. He deeply cares about the way people think and how their social, physical and psychological environments shape their worldview.
Mayuri
thought she wasn’t creative, science was her bent, and yet she’s rediscovering her play and years later is regulary creating and inspiring others to create too.
She crochets, doodles, sketchnotes, and her artistic work drawsnon her Indian heritage.
She’s recently begun to explore relief print-making on linocut, discovering in the journey that she is indeed able to sketch (more than she ever thought).
Mayuri works as a manager in Data Analytics in her employed role. She thrives in community-driven spaces, trying to foster connection and joy, including running a monthly in-person craft night and starting a craft club in her workplace.
As a coach, much of her work centres around supporting people in moments of transition e.g. becoming self-employed, moving into employment, onboarding well into new job roles. She also uses her tech and coaching skills to support SMEs to understand and map their systems, in order to simplify and bring joy to their work (once again).
We know that sometimes you’re looking for a piece that invites you to look time and again, finding a moment to gather thoughts (or to get lost in them); indeed to find a new facet each time you view the piece.
We also know that life sometimes leaves us in places that we’re uncomfortable and from where we wish to move on and grow.
Through our art and workshops we want to facilitate growth in thinking, action and internal narratives so that you leave from any interaction with us or our work feeling strengthened.
We host our workshops in and around South Birmingham and you can also find us at art markets in the local area.
Check out the Events page, our Gallery and/or Contact us to find out more.
Of course, join the newsletter, if you want to hear more about our creative practise, and how we can encourage and support you.
