Ffin Aros has gone through several iterations over the last decade. Once it was an exploration of the Winter storms of 2018, then it became a surreal piece where a figure emerged in the storm and now it is the multi-layered image of (an)other sky and the storm of a different sea. Ffin Aros itself can be translated as Waiting Border, speaking as such to ideas of liminality, transition and change.
Recently, this piece has been accepted in to the Birmingham Open (2025) and was Longlisted in the Artist of the Year Awards by the Visual Artists Association (VAA).
Kevin would also like to acknowledge the importance of community in the completion of this artwork, members of the United Artist of South Birmingham gave him some fantastic feedback which he values immensely.
